2.     Summary

The course "Theory and methods of childrens ecological education" provides the advanced studying of general issues of the theory of childrens ecological education, methods and modern technologies of preschoolers ecological education and training, equipping students with knowledge, skills, habits necessary for organizing the work of the ecologist and the educator at the preschool institution.

The aim is ensuring the students' readiness to implement the childrens ecological education at preschool educational institutions.

The objectives:

1. developing the knowledge of teaching the children theoretical data, skills and habits;

2. transforming knowledge into methodological skills in the organizing preschool childrens ecological development;

3. bring future professionals closer to the professional activity of an educator, a methodologist, an ecologist of the preschool institution.

4. raising of the overall level of the future educators ecological culture.

Requirements for the level of students training, who have completed studying the course "Theory and methods of childrens ecological education":

A student should have an idea of:

- the role of the nature in the human life;

- the unity of the human and his environment;

- the unity of the education, the training and the development in the process of the ecological education;

- some of the existing foreign and domestic systems of the ecological education;

- modern theories and technologies of organizing the ecological education of children before school.

A student should know:

- the subject content, its aim, objectives, means of childrens ecological education;

- basic research methods in the theory of childrens ecological education;

- methods and techniques of childrens ecological education and training;

- forms of the work on preschool childrens ecological education and training;

- organization and methods of playing various didactical games;

- aspects of planning the work on preschool childrens ecological education and training;

- organization of an ecologists work at preschool educational institutions;

- particularities of organizing the work on childrens ecological education in families;

- aspects of teaching the course "Methods of childrens ecological education" in the teachers training colleges.

A student should be able to:

- specify the aim, objectives of organizing the childrens ecological education at the preschool institution;

- characterize the general and partial programs on the ecological education;

- arrange and conduct all the forms of the work on the ecological education with children at preschool institutions, taking into account their age groups;

- make documentation (with the textual or graphic content) of the annual, long-term and calendar scheduling;

- make an abstract plan of ecological classes, excursions, leisure, etc.;

- analyze plans and various forms of the work on the ecological education;

- analyze the documentation on the planning and record keeping of the work;

- make ecological passports of the preschool institution;

- apply various methods and techniques of the environmental education and training of preschool children of different ages in the work.

The educational work on the course takes place in the form of lectures, seminars, practical studies (workshops) and students independent work.
